Have you ever given serious thought to the famine and physical hunger that exist in our world? Want to do something about it? If you are a Jr. High student - 7th and 8th grade - join with the Jr. Highers here at Castine to do something about it. 30 Hour Famine is a time when students fast - and in our case, drink only nutritious liquids - for a 30 hour period of time. In exchange, they have sponsors who donate $'s to help fight world hunger. For just $30 per month, a impoverished child can receive care and food. Last year, students raised enough support to provide care and food for more than three children for a year through World Vision.

Now, we realize it doesn't sound like your typical Jr. High outing. Guess what, it isn't. Not only do you get to fast with other students, you'll have the opportunity to do some local service, and make a difference in the lives of those in our community. If this catches your attention, then come hang out with us Friday evening and all day on Saturday. By the way, the fast starts at noon while you are in school. What better way than to focus on helping others while in the midst of your friends. If you have ever wanted a chance to send a message about the One you follow, you will have it if you get involved in 30 Hour Famine!
