| There is a Famine Coming in March! (b) - Thursday, February 25, 2010The Jr. High will be participating in the 30 Hr. Famine here in the Life Center on Friday and Saturday, March 19 and 20. Students will begin their fast at noon on Friday, and the Famine activities will begin here at 6 pm on Friday evening. There will be activities planned throughout Friday evening and Saturday to help the students develop a better understanding of the conditions and lives of those they are raising money to support. More information about the event will be given directly to the students who have signed up to participate.
As a congregation, we can support the students by making donations to provide care for children in third world countries. Each $360 raised will provide food and clothing for a child for an entire year. Just $1 per day, less than the cost of a bottle of pop or a cup of coffee. This year, it makes it even more meaningful when we realize we have Brad and Abby Houdashelt, and Nadia Neil out on the front lines of the mission field. Donations will be collected up through March 19. |
